The tour departs from Kotor at 08:30am. The drive takes us through Dobrota, Ljuta, Perast and Risan giving beautiful panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor, before crossing into mainland Montenegro. On the way to Ostrog Monastery we make few short breaks for taking photos in Perast and above Salt Lake near Niksic.

Ostrog Monastery of the Holy Basil Thaumaturge is the largest sanctuary in Montenegro, it consists of the Lower and Upper Monastery and was built in 1650. Upper Ostrog Monastery is located 900m above sea level and houses the relics of St Basil of Ostrog which are reported to have healing powers. The Monastery is the most visited holy place in these areas and is visited by believers from all faiths.
 
 
Arrival at the Monastery is around 10:30am.
 
 
We will have 2,5 hours free time to visit the Upper Monastery, Church of the Martyr Stanko and the Lower Monastery. On the return journey we will make a 1 hour lunch break (optional), and after we finish we are easily heading back to Kotor.
 
Return to Kotor is at 16:00.

8:30 – start from Kotor (meeting point Old Town Hostel reception)
8:50 – Photo stop in Perast
9:50 – Photo stop above Salt Lake
10:30 – Arrival at Ostrog Monastery
13:00 – Lunch break
14:00 – Departure to Kotor
16:00 – Return to Kotor
